This block print of the 34th street bridge was the first artwork I did after moving to Tacoma. It's a beautiful bridge spanning the ravine that starts Hwy 7 and it travels through to connect from I-5 to Pacific Ave. You can see the bridge from I-5 and I had often wondered what was up that lush ravine with the pretty bridge as I zoomed by traveling from Seattle to Oregon. Well, after moving to Tacoma in 2014 it became the gateway to my home, my exit to eastside Tacoma, and I decided to carve a block commemorating it!

This bridge is a concrete open-spandrel design that was built in 1937. It has recently been renamed the Harold Moss bridge, in honor of Tacoma's first African American mayor.
