The Science of Mixed Media Arts

Students will explore the “What happens if…” in art while using watercolor paint techniques with salt, alcohol inks and other materials to answer their art + science questions. They will also create a Yarn Wrapped Resist Painting. Students will work through colorful process-based projects and take home multiple unique creations. Get ready for some artful surprises!

Teaching Artist: Lisa Palmatier has been a visual arts educator for over 20 years. She was the art teacher on staff at two K-8 grade elementary schools and has taught numerous children’s art workshops throughout the Seattle area. She works in a variety of media with a focus on fiber arts. Her education includes a B.A. in Art from the University of Washington and Arts Education classes through Seattle Pacific University. She has served on the board of the Edmonds Arts Festival as both the Juried Art and Kids Creative Corner Director.
