Come learn how to turn your recyclables into a junk journal with Seattle ReCreative. Junk Journals can become: art journals, travel journals, garden planners, sketchbooks or scrapbooks. Anything that comes in book form can be made as a junk journal. To warm up, Seattle ReCreative will teach you how to make a variety of small no sew books to tuck into your junk journal. They will then teach you how to sew the four hole pamphlet stitch with pockets and special expanding pages. Finally you will learn how to make a reusable travel journal binding that you can tuck everything in. During the second half of class you will have the opportunity to personalize your journal and ask questions of the instructors. All materials are provided but feel free to bring things you would like to incorporate into your junk journal.
Space is limited; registration required. Registration will open on Saturday, January 12, 10am. Please call the Lake Forest Park Library to register, 206.362.8860.
This program is presented by the Arts Council in partnership with the King County Library System. Support is provided by the City of Shoreline, City of Lake Forest Park, and 4Culture.
