Submission & Guidelines

There are a few things you need to know before signing up:

This needs to be a new costume that hasn't been submitted in any events previously.

Keep it PG - no nudity or graphic content - the Art Council council reserves the right to not display any entries which we feel violate the PG nature of this event.

Post your creation in the making and the finished costume online - use the #cosplaycostumecontest

Location: Online

Age: You must be 13+ to enter

Key Dates:

  • Submission: 8th May, 2020
  • Voting for peoples choice award and judging: 9th - 10th May, 2020
  • Awards and prizes: announced 5pm, May 10th, 2020

Our judges will be evaluating the costumes based on the following criteria:

    • Creativity - what kind of materials have been used, how complex the costume is, and attention to detail
    • Quality - the overall artistry for each element in the costume and the overall costume
    • Authenticity - hand crafted elements on the costume (opposed to store bought elements)
    • Presentation - overall appearance and likeness to the character

My question isn’t answered! We try to answer everything we can think of, but even we are going slightly loopy during this quarantine period! This is why we love creating these virtual spaces where we can practice our creativity at home. Email us with questions or comments: programs@shorelinearts.net
